My Big Walk to the Tall Mountains!

Blog Article

I always dreamed of seeing really big mountains. So, I went on a special walk. This walk was to Annapurna Base Camp via ghandruk. It was my very first time doing something like this, and wow, it was amazing! I felt like a little explorer going on a big trip.

First, I got to a village called Ghandruk. It was so pretty! The houses were made of stone, and they looked very old and strong. The Gurung people live there. They were so nice and always smiled. They showed me how they weave cloth. It felt like stepping into a friendly storybook.

Then, the real walking began! Each day, I walked up, up, up. I walked through forests with tall trees. Sometimes I saw big, bright red flowers called rhododendrons. They were everywhere! I heard birds singing and rivers rushing by. The air smelled so clean. I saw little bridges made of wood that I had to cross. It was fun! I was not alone; other people were walking too, and we would wave and say "Namaste!" which means hello.

As I got higher, the trees started to get smaller. And then, I started seeing the HUGE snowy mountains. They looked like giant white castles in the sky. One mountain looked just like a fishtail! It's called Machhapuchhre. It’s so special that nobody is allowed to climb it. It stands at 6,997 meters (that's 22,956 feet) tall! Seeing it for the first time made my jaw drop.

Finally, after many days of walking, I reached Annapurna Base Camp! I was standing at 4,130 meters (that's 13,550 feet high!). Giant mountains were all around me. Annapurna I, one of the tallest mountains in the world, was right there! It's 8,091 meters (26,545 feet) tall! I felt so tiny but so, so happy. It was very quiet, except for the wind. I just stood there, looking at all the snow and ice. It was like being on another planet. I even saw some mountain goats, called Himalayan Tahr, carefully walking on the steep slopes.

The walk back down was nice too. My legs were tired, but my heart was full. I will never forget seeing those big, beautiful mountains. This trip showed me how wonderful our world is. If you ever want to see something truly amazing, I think you would love this walk too. It made me feel strong and happy. It was the best adventure!
